Comprehensive Center for Pain Research

College of Dentistry

An important organizational feature of the Center is the ability to recruit from and interact with diverse areas of expertise that exist within the University of Florida. Three areas representing different dimensions of the CCPR are the Basic, Clinical and Basic-Clinical research disciplines. The development of new programs and expansion of existing ones in these areas is being done by taking advantage of the resources and expertise found within the McKnight Brain Institute, the six Colleges of the Health Science Center, the University of Florida Cancer Center, the College of Arts and Sciences, and within numerous Institutes and Centers located throughout the University. At present there exists a commitment by members of these various organizations to develop new initiatives and expand existing programs related to the onset and progression of acute and chronic pain states.
